What I learned from shipping badly
The thing I was ashamed of taught me more than the three polished things before it.
I once shipped something I was not proud of, on a deadline, with bugs I knew about. I braced for the reckoning. It never came — instead, real people used it, told me what was actually wrong (not what I feared was wrong), and I fixed the right things for once.
Shipping badly beats polishing privately, every time. The work does not get good in the drawer.
